Raw footage sneak peak;)

I have pieced together the opening of the opening; when all the credits will be being shown and everything !!!!!!!!!!!!!

My plan is to add the credits along with the title into spaces where there is nothing so for example in the beginning for the part where I film the bridge and then pan into the sky I will have the title there since there is nothing there, only the sky and I will cut that scene in half and slow motion the section with only the sky so it is longer and people will have time to read the title.

This part of my film is really, really important because it gives the setting and it sets the tone for my whole film opening!!

This is a rough, rough draft, but I present to you the first edit of my film officially named,

MODEL BEHAVIOR

enjoy:

INTRODUCING

NICOLE SVENSSON!!!!!

She doubles as my best friend and the STAR of my production:)

I was pondering back and forth about who I should pick because I have a couple cousins that have offered and I had even considered doing myself as the star but that is too complicated being that I would need to meticulously direct someone on how to film me..

Anyway, below are some photos of my beautiful star!

Absolutely beautiful, I know.

Here is a short list of why I think she is perfect for this role:

- She is a perfect ides of what a model looks like
- She is my best friend so I have easy access to her
- She is good at listening, follows directions super easy
- She has great facial expressions and is outgoing so will be perfect!!

FILMING HAS OFFICIALLY COMENCED

WOOOOHOOOOOO

I made it out to the city today and FILMED!

I am so happy this day has finally come.

Since I don’t have my actress here with me in San Fransisco I decided that the filming would consist of my establishing shots and first shots of my film opening. My actress in my film opening will be living inside the city of San Fran which is why i got multiple shots of the city to establish where she is and where she lives. I am really happy with the shots and I also took a lot because I know I won’t be able to come back before the time that I will need these shots. I specifically chose Chesnut Street because it is a very nice and expensive street so it would be likely that my model who is living a luxurious life will be living in.

Here is a screenshot of all the different videos that i took, plus some on my moms phone because mine was acting a little weird.

When i get home, expect a soon edit of these shots paired with the title and subtitle all edited in to the very beginning!! :)

title time

Hmmm I’ve been thinking about what I am going to do for my title today!

Since I wanted to do this right I did some research on how to come up with movie titles, turns out there’s lots of websites online just ready willing and able to help.

This links explained that there are six main things to consider while coming up with the title for your movie, I will explain my new insight below,

1. be aware and NAIL the story’s essence in the title!
2. consider characters
3. consider locations in the movie
4. consider prominent situations or feelings~~
5. check to make sure it works!
6. make your title work in your film, format wise

Based on all my new lovely knowledge,

Here are some of my ideas:
- Model Behavior
- My inconvenient life
- Mode Switch
- Everything in bewteen

My favorite one is model behavior. This is my favorite because I think it’s a pun on “how someone should act” and how a model is truly acting. It’s about a woman seeking therapy and going to take the steps for self improvement so in a way it is the “model” behavior for how people should act and since she is a model it is also a models behavior!!

side note: i have FANTASTIC  news!
Tomorrow I am going to go to the city and hopefully will get some filming:)

so MUCH

So much traveling, so much progress, so overwhelmed, so tired - ugh

I can't remember the last time I wasn't sick.

Anyway

I'm staying with family friends and there's a little girl her name is Maya and she has been the greatest help as I think I have honestly fully developed a plan that I intend to execute shortly following.

She's the best, anyway, let me explain my vision:

I am going to keep the whole idea of my actor getting out of bed and getting ready and everything and then moving from that going back and forth to her in therapy. This will add visual interest to a boring scene and also make the script more interesting.

This also helps with my CCR because I have a genre convention broken where a girl can be a dominate role in modeling and makes her own money!

While I'm here,

I feel like I never explicitly blogged about this so here I am:)

My film is a drama, and with this genre come certain conventions that I had to follow throughout my process. Generally, drama's are found to be serious films, they have intense plots and attempt to portray realistic characters going through relatable things in realistic settings. Specifically, there are also things to consider.

Costume:
- reflects characters personality
- troubled characters wear dark clothes

Location:
- vital to main characters life
- reflects emotions

Characters:
- developed through film
- protagonist going through something hard
- relatable

Narrative:
- realistic
- social issues
- realism
- heightened peaks

Sound:
- Diegetic Dialogue
- non diegetic voiceover of protagonist
- non diegetic emotional score music

Reflective of character personality:
- troubled characters:
          - drugs
          - cigarettes
          - weapons
          - alcohol

Editing and camerawork:
- eyeline match
- POV
- Shot reverse shot
- Fast paced editing
- close ups
- handheld camera movements

Keep in mind that some of these things I can't portray due to the fact that I am only completing the film opening.

MY CAMERA'S GONE.

Notice how I didnt't say "missing"

That's cause I know exactly where she is.

My brother took my camera without asking to Colorado today while I was sleeping so that's fantastic.
I planned on using it to do filming once I get to Cali but now everything will need to be done with my phone which is honestly really unfortunate.

I am currently accepting any suggestions for how to get back at him.

Complaining aside, here's what I'm working on today:

t e c h n o l o g y

WeVideo, iMovie, Flipagram, lol I'm jk but those are just some of the many options that I had to chose from to edit my film and I chose

WeVideo!

Plus:

I have finalized my script :)
Here it is:

I guess I was honestly really never that aware of how much it killed me inside. It got dark in the blink of an eye. One day I woke up and I didn't have the will, or simply the want to even lift my pinky. I stopped going to modeling gigs and I went ghost on all social media. I remember feeling so heavy. It wasn't always like this, I guess somewhere along the way I just got lost.

Side note: I'm also leaving to California in a few hours :)))))))

can u believe im stiiilll researching

Yeah, neither can I.

I decided that in order to write a transcript that would truly speak to what real models go through when this stuff actually  happens to them IRL, I knew that I needed to read up on and become enlightened with some stories and also familiarize myself with how they speak and what words they really use.

For this specific research I turned to youtube to observe the models themselves going through their experiences and explaining their stories.

1. Why being a model sucks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYZ3K_a2WpU
2. TEDTALK: Looks aren't everything. Believe me, I'm a model. | Cameron Russell https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KM4Xe6Dlp0Y
3. I was body-shamed by a modeling agency https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4M277wIJPvk
4. The good, the bad, the ugly of modeling https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jiiZ5_zZJ24

i really recommend these videos, especially the ted talk, as they were very enlightening and interesting!

thankfully I now feel more ready and equipped to continue writing away at my transcript.

Next post expect an update in my transcript and my written story board.
